Whittier Airport is located within the Valdez-Cordova Census Area, which is in the state of Alaska. The airport is open for public use and is currently owned by the State of AK DOTPF C REG. It boasts a small gravel runway, which is over 450 meters in length, while it caters mostly for general aviation and air taxi. The runway was originally longer, but the 1964 Good Friday earthquake caused damage to it.
