About the Hampton Classic Horse Show
The Hampton Classic Horse Show has officially been running for over 75 years but can be traced back to the early 1900s, when it was known as the annual Southampton Horse Show. Suspended during the World Wars, it was reinstated in the 1970s and extended to five days. In 2009, the show was awarded Heritage Competition Status and is now one of America’s largest outdoor horse events, featuring world-leading riders and horses.
The Classic is held at a 65-acre showground in Bridgehampton and has been attended by celebrities, socialites and business leaders including Jon Bon Jovi, Brooke Shields and Jerry Seinfeld. The highlight is the $300,000 Grand Prix, which takes place on the final day.
