Helping war veterans get to Washington D.C.

Honor Flight asked us to help them fly a group of military veterans on a same-day round trip to the war memorials and monuments in Washington D.C. Many of the elderly passengers were wheelchair users and needed hands-on care to get on and off the flight, so meticulous planning was needed to ensure everything went smoothly.

Our Solution

Route: Washington DC

Aircraft: Boeing 737-800

Our experienced team sourced a Boeing 737-800 with enough space to comfortably accommodate the 180 veterans and chaperones, as well as a number of wheelchairs.

We carefully planned the charter to accommodate the veterans’ needs, landing at the closest airport to the memorial and supporting them to board and deboard comfortably.

We also closely liaised with the client on the timing of the return leg, as they’d invited thousands of well-wishers to the airport to surprise the veterans and welcome them home.

The Finer Details

Flight Representation: An ACS representative accompanied the trip, overseeing the passengers’ transit through each airport and ensuring things ran smoothly throughout.

Attention to Detail: Our team member was also on-hand to coordinate customized onboard catering, patriotic aircraft decorations and wheelchair transportation.
